Baviaanskloof Uitspan and really "span uit" amid the
spectacular scenery and peace and quiet of the
Baviaanskloof, the scenic wonderland of the Eastern
Cape.

How to find Us
Baviaanskloof
Uitspan lies in the Baviaanskloof, some 47 kilometers from
Willowmore, 7km from the Nuwkloof Pass.
From Patensie it is 160km but allow for about 5 hours
travelling time. Access from Patensie is only for 4x4 or
vehicle with a high groundclearance.
Uitspan is accessible for off road caravans from the
Willowmore side.

Camping
facilities
There are three
shady campsites, all with 220v electricity, water and lights,
with a large outside braai.
Braai packs wood
and "roosterkoek" available.
For larger groups there is a large
campsite in an old kraal. |

Bed and
Breakfast and Self Catering Chalet
A comfortable
double bedroom as well as a self-catering Chalet are available for those who prefer not
to stay in a tent.

The Chalet has a kitchen, lounge area,
bathroom, one double bedroom as well as an upstairs bedroom
with bunk beds.
The verandah offers magnificent views
over the dam and mountain. |

Eagles Rest
Restaurant and Sports Bar
A charming thatched lapa is available for
the use of our guests. It comes complete with a
licensed bar
and an indoor braai as well as a pool table for evening
relaxation. There is also a big screen television for
those who do not want to miss out on their sport or "soapies".
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available
upon request but please book weekday meals in advance.

Beautifully handmade ox wagons, homemade jams, roasted
coffee, honey bush tea, biltong, dried fruit an ice are for
sale. |

Functions and Conferences
For
a small function or conference with a difference, our
facilities can accommodate up to twenty persons.
As
Baviaanskloof Uitspan is located towards the western end of
the Baviaanskloof, it is of easy access to all types
of vehicle from the Uniondale/Willowmore side.

Activities
There are
a formal hiking trail into the beautiful Houtkloof that takes about an hour
and a half with magnificent examples of indigenous tree and plant life
such as white stinkwood, wild olive and wild fig.
Opportunities
abound for bird watching and mountain climbing.
For cooling off
on hot summer days there is a dam for swimming and just for
fun try the rope slide!

seen in a nearby cave.
